The gorgeous village of Rosendal is set on the edge of the Witteberge, which forms part of the foothills of the magnificent Maluti Mountains. It’s a photographer’s paradise and a sanctuary where artists and writers find their inspiration.

The Rosendal Country Retreat is bathed in local history and had its origins as a cheese farm many years ago. Rosendal is a small self-contained village with limited resources. ​There are three small shops that cater to basic needs - including a bakery and a bottle store.

​There is no atm in town, so Senekal or Ficksburg would be the last point for cash withdrawals. ​Please note that petrol and diesel are not available on Sundays.

 

In case of emergency, the closest chemist or doctor is 40km away, in either Senekal or Ficksburg.
